Classroom Profiles
Children’s Corner offers three different class levels. Each level – or preschool classroom – has one or more teachers depending on the size of the class.
Toddlers: 24 to 36 months
Our goal is to provide a safe, secure and nurturing environment for your child. We strive to afford our youngest children at the school with a program that will encourage their social, emotional, physical and cognitive growth during this very special time of life.
Twos are exploding forth in regard to their power to communicate, to move purposefully as well as to assert their independence and individuality. We will introduce productive activities to enhance their social and emotional development. Self-help skills and toilet training are also encouraged as well as other early learning processes.
Preschool
Our preschool classrooms reinforce the skills children have acquired as twos and then focus on the further development of social skills as well as the encouragement of a love for learning. Children are also urged to explore their environment.
Pre-K
Children’s Corner pre-kindergarten program recognizes that children will soon be entering schools that have a range of expectations in regard to child readiness for social and academic performance. With this in mind, we offer a wide variety of activities designed to increase the child’s understanding of math, science, language and social studies. We encourage personal confidence and self-esteem so that the transition to kindergarten will be a successful one.
Toilet Training
Children do not have to be previously toilet trained to attend Children’s Corner. We begin working on children’s toilet training in partnership with parents. We feel that children need to develop physically as well as emotionally to be ready for this big step. We are happy to assist in guiding your child through this important and liberating process.
Parent-Teacher Conferences
Parent-teacher conferences are scheduled one or two times during the school year. However, our teachers and directors are always available to meet at any time, outside of scheduled meetings.
Year Round School Schedules
Children’s Corner is a year-round school. We have schedules and sessions to accommodate almost every family’s needs, 12 months a year. We encourage newcomers to sign-up for summer session to ensure a seamless transition when the fall schedule starts.
Children’s Corners Hours:
Monday thru Friday, 8am to 5pm
Full Time & Flexible Schedules:
These have proven to be the most cost effective programs for our parents. The advantages are as follows:
• You are only charged for the time your child is in our care.
This allows for flexibility of your schedule without being charged
a flat rate for potentially unused time at the school
• You are allowed an allotted number of days at no charge to be used at your discretion (for sick days, family vacations, etc.)
• You will not be charged for days that the school is closed
(see observed holidays, below)
Extended Day Program (8:30-3:30)
2-day, 3-day, 4-day, 5 day Schedules Available
Morning Programs: (8:30 to 12:15)
2-day, 3-day, 4-day, 5 day Schedules Available
Attendance before and after these times is billed as used
Before & After Care: We have three teachers who specialize in the transitional nature of a daycare atmosphere, which includes Before Care and After Care hours.
One of our staff members opens our facility at 8:00 am. She is there to welcome your child and happily provides your child a variety of interesting activities that will assure a smooth home to school transition.
Our afternoon daycare teachers bring fresh energy and enthusiasm to our After Care Program. They are on hand with stories, games, or art and other activities so that your well entertained child can greet you with a big smile at the end of the day!
The school closes at 5pm.
