What is Transitional Kindergarten?

Transitional Kindergarten gives children born between September and December an additional year of preparation, so they can enter kindergarten with the academic, social and emotional skills they need for success.

Children's Corner Transitional Kindergarten Program Information

Childrens Corner offers an alternative to the elementary schools' Transitional Kindergarten Program. The benefits of our program are that we offer smaller class sizes in the a familiar setting while providing a tender loving environment before entering the big public school system.

Our transitional kindergarten curriculum is designed with the needs of the five year old in mind. We offer an enriching classroom atomosphere that provides opportunities to develop the self-confidence and problem-solving skills necessary for kindergarten.

Academically speaking, while our focus is on establishing a sound language arts foundation (including letter recognition, phonemic awareness and language development) we offer a well rounded program including math, science, art and sensory exploration.

Our goal in this last stop before kindergarten is to reinforce the child's love of learning and sense of competence so that the transition to elementary school is a successful one.
